                                                 SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN

The concept of Swachhta Abhiyaan, which is perhaps on the top of the agenda of the present government, if seen in its right perspective, is not a new invention or philosophy that has been felt and abruptly came into limelight and existence as a result of new awakening in the human mind set spontaneously.  It is being given extra importance over so many other relatively most urgent things which are required to be solved for the betterment and quality life of the common citizens of our country.

Ever since Vedic Age, Vedic people knew very well the need and importance of cleanliness, sanitation and maintaining personal health and hygiene which had been their first and foremost requirement that was felt by the then or even earlier societies. It is not a spontaneous and abrupt awakening  that is now being felt and is generally being practiced forcefully by an act of central, state and local self governments in the length and breadth of the country.

But I have a doubt in my mind that until and unless one is prepared  fully and heartily to devote oneself and to adapt to the requirements of Swachhta Abhiyaan, heart and soul, make it a part and parcel of everyday natural mode of thinking and activity of one's routine life, it  seems very difficult to achieve the desired results of cleanliness around us, wherever we live, wherever we go and wherever we travel.

In order to have constant, regular and permanent nature of cleanliness all around, our concerted
efforts are needed to be made and then only one and everyone can dream of permanent clean environment, where not only us humans, but also our precious and endangered species of animals, birds, forests, mountains, rivers, streams and other such necessary and depleting water resources, harvests and agricultural fields shall become clean and prosperous as a result of which our echo system and lower atmosphere around us would become worth living place for generations to come!

To learn a bit more about cleanliness, let us go back in time space for a while. In Treta Yuga, an extremely old religious woman of Bheel clan, very well known to all by the name of 'Shavri'. This woman had an inclination that one day Bhagwan Ram would definitely come across the way where she lived. She, first of all, thought of cleanliness and sanitation of  her living area and around. She undertook the harrowing job of cleaning of all the tracks and  pathways leading to and from her dwelling from all the sides.

In the sincere hope of Lord Ram coming to her one day, she and her associates used to clean the area covering vast expanse to ensure that tracks are made thoroughly of any hazards of thorny bushes, debris, wild growth, rocks and concrete and even smallest of the fragments. It was a limit of thinking of a way or method of cleaning open ground, that too, covering large and far flung expanse in order to facilitate Lord Ram to walk over that area without any difficulty or discomfort. Shavri used to clean the probable sitting area of Lord Ram with her hair everyday making doubly sure the smoothness and cleanliness of particular sitting place

Not to talk of cleanliness of the area in general, Shavri Maa was also known for her personal hygiene and upkeep of her Jhompari which was kept ever ready, duly maintained, white washed, cow dung pasted and decorated with wild flowers, foliage and preserving various kinds of jungle fruits like Ber etc to welcome Ram.

Coming back from the flash back. Well, this way the story of an old jungle woman of those old days gone by, who felt and knew the importance of cleanliness of the pathways which we have been knowing since our birth, but we never gave much attention to a vital point of cleanliness so far.

Further, in order to know about present day Shavri, I suggest all to think about a 97 years old woman Smt. Bhuri Bai who practically cleans the whole village everyday before the residents are woken up in the morning.  What a motivation that one can take from Maa Bhuri Bai, Shavri of today's Kalyuga indeed and make India's Swachhta Abhiyaan a reality and show the world that such things can also happen in India too!

AN INNOVATIVE GIRL WITH A VISION

My daughter Vandana's baby doll, Saishu,...S..aisha....S....a..isha. Eversince she has been around, gifted by the Almighty, we the Nanu-Nani and the Mehras, Dadu-Dadi's lives, thoughts and life styles have, to some extent considerably been changed. Efforts made to search, every nook and corner, near and far beyond, in order to see for an equivalent child, if there is any, within our reach, to compare with our Saishu, were fruitless. There is no equivalent found whatsoever even if you go searching beyond infinite, a child like ours!

We both Nanu-Nani, sometimes had a tough talk over a matter beyond our and anybody else's control that when Vandana's lap would be occupied, when she would have no bounds to feel like a proud mother and also enjoy sweet and soothing motherhood feeling.

Some English poet has aptly added that, "There is a silver lining even in a dark cloud". Now, no more darkness, if at all there was some, it has already been vanished and a shining star, a star that shines loudly in the horizon, has already arisen in the life of Vandana and Vishal with Saisha standing in between them. A future hope, a sincere hope on which the life of both the parents, and the Mehra family, as a hole, depends.

We both also hope that Saisha would dominate all, in a field that she would step in, in the unpredictable future!

Joshua-Saisha, bro-sis both love each other so much that both are attracted to each other and always wish to get together even on occasions other than Rakhi and Tikka. Joshu is a naughty boy while Saisha looks like sober and systematic. While Joshua is a care free master, Saisha is more like a Papa's darling!
